History
The Subang Jaya Buddhist Association (SJBA) was registered under Section VII, Societies Act 1966 on November 23, 1988. The Association commenced its activities in August 1988 at its rented premise at No.9, Jalan SS14/5D, Subang Jaya.

The objectives of the Association are:
* To study and propagate the Buddha's Teachings.
* To promote and encourage the practice of the Buddhist Way of life.
* To promte social welfare dnd charitable works.
* To build a buddhist Vihara (temple) in Subang Jaya. 

The members of SJBA strive to achieve the above objectives together in magnificent TEAMWORK. As a result of the excllent support and contribution by members and devotees, the Association has successfully organised many Dhamma activities, fellowship activities as well as community services.

With the of Selangor State Executive Coucillors, Dato's Tang See Hang and Dato's Ng Soon Por, SJBA has also successfully obtainde an 1/2 acre piece of state land at a token amount of RM300.00 from the Selangor State Govermnent to build our new Temple. With the help of Subang Jaya State Assemblyman, Mr. Lee Hwa Beng, we managed to get all the necessary approvals from the Authorities for our Temple Building Plans.

The construction work of the new Temple was tendered out and the SJBA awarded the building contract to Pembinaan YCS Bhd on 31 May 1996. The site was handed over to the Contractor on 5 July 1996, and the Temple was completed on September 1997 at a cost of about RM 1.55 million. Together with the cost of fittings and others to make the Temple facilities adequate, the total cost comes to about RM 1.75 million. We started to move into our new temple in November 1997.

The success of SJBA is due to magnificent teamwork of our members, contributing their selfless services,donations etc for a common cause, in peace and harmony, especially after 10.10.1993, when, after careful and frank deliberations, the Executive Committee of SJBA adopted the mission. To build a Centre of Excellence for the propagation of the buddha's Teaching and the promotion of the Buddhist Way of Life.

Our vision:
To build and maintain a vihara (temple) that is conducive to the propagation of the buddha's Teaching & the promotion of the Buddhist way of life.

1. Vihara.
To build and maintain a vihara (temple ) that is conducive to the propagation of the Buddha's Teaching & the promotion of the Buddhist way of life.

2. Dhammaduta works.
To propagate the Buddha's teaching.
To encourage the practice of Dana, Sila and Bhavana in our daily life.
To systematically train and develop in-house Dhammaduta workers.
To build a support structure for Sangha and full time practitioners actively involve in dhmmaduata works.

3. Welfara and Charitabld Works. 
To initiate and encourage social welfare and charitable works to help create a caring and sharing society with good virtues of generosity and compassion.

4. Buddhist Culture.
To encourage Buddhist arts and culture works that are compatible to Buddhist way of life.

5. Fellowship.
To foster followship amonngst the Buddhist Community.
To have closer interaction with other Buddhist organisations.

6. Buddhist Education and Training.
To implement systematic Buddhist education, training and development for our children and youth so that they grow up as good and useful Buddhists.
To implement leadership and management training for aspiring Buddhist professionals for efficient management of Buddhist organisations.
To set up a well-equipped library as an information and resource centre for the study and research of Buddhist works.

7. Information Dissemination.
To implement an effective information dissemination system for members and devotees through newsletters, communication lik, publications, etc.
